Warranty Policy

Last updated · April 14, 2026

This policy describes warranty coverage for Hybrid Matters mobile-installed hybrid battery services and for shipped DIY hybrid battery module kits ordered through our website (https://www.hybridmatters.com/shop/battery-modules). The invoice, order confirmation, warranty card, and service documents for a specific job or order control if there is any conflict. For refunds, core deposits, and returns on shipped kits, see our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

What this policy covers

We offer different warranty terms depending on whether we install a battery at your location (mobile service) or ship a module kit to you for DIY installation. Read the section that applies to your purchase.

Mobile service: available warranty tiers

  • 3 month. Entry coverage for budget-focused drivers.
  • 6 month. Balanced protection for daily commuters.
  • 1 year. Maximum peace of mind we offer on installs.

Duration and pricing for mobile installs depend on the vehicle and tier you select at booking; your invoice lists the tier that applies to your job.

Mobile service: what the warranty covers

Subject to the written warranty documents for the specific job, our warranty on mobile-installed battery packs generally covers defects in the battery pack or covered installed modules that occur during the stated warranty period under normal use and proper vehicle operation.

Shipped DIY module kits

When you purchase a shipped module kit online, the following applies unless your order confirmation states otherwise:

  • What is warranted: The reconditioned hybrid battery modules (cells) supplied in that kit for the listed vehicle application, for 12 months from the date of delivery to the shipping address on the order, against defects in materials or workmanship under normal use when installed and used correctly.
  • What is not a "battery module" warranty item: Consumables and hardware such as bus bars and nuts, shipping cartons, labels, tools, labor, vehicle damage, or unrelated vehicle systems are not separately warranted beyond any applicable consumer rights. Installation quality, torque, reassembly, cooling system operation, and high-voltage safety are your responsibility (or your installer's).
  • Core deposit: The $350refundable core deposit is not "warranty coverage"; it is governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy based on timely return of an acceptable core.
  • DIY risk: Hybrid systems are high voltage. Incorrect installation can cause injury, death, fire, or vehicle damage. Warranty on shipped modules does not cover damage caused by improper installation, misuse, collision, flooding, unauthorized internal service, or operation with known cooling or hybrid system faults.

Exclusive remedy

If a valid covered warranty issue is confirmed, the customer's exclusive remedy is limited to the remedy described in the applicable written warranty or order terms, which may include inspection, repair, replacement, or credit at Hybrid Matters' option. Except where required by law, a warranty claim does not entitle the customer to a refund after mobile installation has been completed, and shipped-kit remedies may be limited to repair or replacement of qualifying modules rather than a full cash refund of the kit.

What the warranty does not cover

  • Unrelated vehicle faults, including inverter, engine, fuse, sensor, software, or 12V battery issues.
  • Collision damage, flood damage, fire damage, theft, vandalism, severe contamination, or other external events.
  • Tampering, opening the battery case, unauthorized service, or modifications by another shop or individual.
  • Operation with known cooling system faults, blocked cooling paths, or other ignored vehicle issues that can damage the battery.
  • Normal wear, cosmetic conditions, noises, or issues outside the stated covered battery components.
  • Towing, roadside incidents, loss of use, rental cars, missed work, lost wages, emotional distress, or other incidental or consequential damages, except where non-waivable law requires otherwise.

Warranty eligibility conditions

  • The warranty applies only to the original customer named on the invoice or order unless we expressly state otherwise in writing.
  • The customer must follow claim instructions and provide access for inspection.
  • For mobile service, the vehicle must remain within the supported service footprint or otherwise be made reasonably available for claim evaluation.
  • We may require diagnostic codes, service records, photographs, videos, or an on-site inspection before approving warranty work.
  • For shipped kits, we may require proof of purchase, photos of module labels or pack condition, and return of suspected defective modules for evaluation before approving a remedy.

How to start a warranty claim

  1. Contact Hybrid Matters as soon as symptoms appear.
  2. Provide your invoice or order details, vehicle year/make/model (for mobile service), symptoms, and any visible warning codes.
  3. Do not allow another party to open, modify, or attempt internal battery repairs before we inspect the issue (except as needed for safe vehicle operation or as directed by emergency personnel).
  4. Follow the inspection or scheduling instructions provided by our team.

Important limitations

A warranty does not guarantee uninterrupted vehicle performance, and it does not guarantee that unrelated pre-existing or future vehicle issues will not occur. If a vehicle stops on the road, develops unrelated faults, or suffers damage from causes outside our covered battery work, those events are not converted into a refund right or a broader damage claim merely because the vehicle has a battery under warranty.
